Happy Monday, everyone! Hope the weekend was good to you… It was to me, minus the hot and humid weather! What is up with the weather Melbourne?! It was extremely humid this morning that I had to swap my morning latte for an orange juice with extra ice!
My weekend was super productive… We had a couple of wedding things to attend to so I’m glad we did it and got it out of the way. My wedding preps these days consist of checklist after checklist and it always feels so damn good to tick stuff off the lists or cross yet another to-do off a list!
First up, we had Marc’s suit fitting along with his groomsman’s suit fitting. It was quite exciting for the boy seeing that he hasn’t been all too involved with the wedding planning… Just the way he likes it and just the way I like it – win and win there! So the boys got measured up and we had to decide on fabric, colours, cuts etc.. It was actually quite involved but I’m confident the suits are going to turn out beautifully.
Straight after the suit fitting we went on the hunt for our wedding bands. Marc has had a pretty good idea on the type of band he wants so shopping for a ring for him was easy. Me on the other hand? It’s been a long, difficult search for the perfect wedding band for me. Only because I’m currently wearing a ring that belonged to my mother as my engagement ring. I actually haven’t told the story on how my engagement ring came to be so I think I’ll leave that for a different post! Anyway, so my engagement ring looks more like a wedding band and it’s been pretty difficult for me looking for the perfect wedding band to match it. I’ve been looking at jewellery for months now and haven’t found anything until Saturday! The man at the jewellery shop took one look at my ring and after hearing my dilemma he said, “I’ve got an idea”. I absolutely love it when people tell me they ‘have an idea’. I don’t know why.
So the man tells me his idea and shows me his idea and I just about wanted to hug him and kiss him! His idea was perfect and looked beautiful. I just couldn’t keep staring at my ring finger. I’m just thrilled to have our wedding bands sorted! After all, they are the most important part of our wedding ceremony!
And to start what is going to be a crazy week, my wedding invitations have been printed and arrived today! Hurray! I am so excited and just can’t wait to share them. My sister and I (mostly my sister) worked tirelessly on them over the last 3 – 4 months. It’s certainly not easy designing your own invitations. But I’m so thankful that my sister agreed to do them for me. It’s bizarre to have them in front of me… This wedding is going full steam ahead!
