Summer in Melbourne

I spent most of the weekend holed up in my house studying for the exam I had today… the one chance I made it out of the house, I had lunch with a few girlfriends  by the beach. It was a stunningly beautiful summer’s day. A little windy but I didn’t mind… just being out in the fresh air, the cool breeze, the sun on my skin, good food, good conversation and amazing friends made it the perfect afternoon that it was. As we get older and become more and more consumed with life, I honestly try and cherish the each moment I have with the girls… whether we laugh, bicker, have silly banter or deep meaningful conversations, every minute counts… girls that I have known for nearly half my life! Though I love my girls dearly, I am trying to truly treasure them…

So my exam today went brilliantly considering the head space I’ve been in the last couple of weeks! Funny thing is I usually have a minor freak out a day or so before any exam I sit for, but this time around, I really could not care less… I guess I’ve had a ton of other things on my mind so the exam wasn’t really an issue to me. I did pretty well too so I’m happy it’s out of the way!

Now I’m ready to truly enjoy my Christmas break… and finish the dreaded Christmas shopping.

Don’t I wish this was my backyard… yep, wouldn’t mind it, since summer is almost here!

I have a very painful next two days of finishing off my assignment which is due on Friday… seems like lately I’ve been needing constant reminders as to why I put myself through this torture of studying. Let’s see, what would I rather be doing instead of my lovely assignment?

  • Catch up on all my recorded TV shows – the recording list just keeps getting longer!
  • Do absolutely nothing.
  • Surf the internet for mindless crap… or beautiful pictures like the one above…
  • Dream of being in beautiful places like the one above…
  • SLEEP.

Oh, I had such a fantastic long weekend… but I will tell all later… after I hand in this horrible assignment.

Seriously wish I could pay someone to write it for me.

Happy hump day!

I passed my exam! What a relief. I actually did pretty well considering the horrible state I was in last week put me about a week behind with my study schedule. I’m looking forward to coming home from work tomorrow and not having to worry about doing any studying… until I enrol in my next subject that is.

In the mean time, I will be dreaming of finding a cute little place by a cute little lake like the one above…

Happy hump day!

Study Day

I’m home from work today to “study”. No, really, I will be studying… I have to. Being sick last week threw me off my study schedule so I have alot to make up for… fingers crossed my exam tomorrow will turn out to be a piece of cake!

On a random note, we are getting cable installed this weekend! I can barely contain my excitement. Now I get all my favourite TV shows on like five different channels 24 hours a day – I won’t know what to do with myself! I’m very, very conscious about not letting myself turn into a couch potato though. Marc and I have let our exercise routine slip the past few months which has been pretty bad… so we hope to pick it up again after my exam tomorrow. The weather is so much cooler now heading into winter and I’ve always preferred exercising in cold weather rather than hot. The only negative is that the sun is down by like six pm!

Well, am off to make a start on the studying… I will leave you with a sweet wall of frames… how pretty!

More Flowers…

I am still loving the flowers…

It’s midnight on a Thursday and I’ve just finished an assignment! Good riddance. Thank god I can mail it off tomorrow and just not think about it again. It’s been driving me crazy for weeks. Now, I can totally and wholly focus on surviving the next two weeks of work before Marc and I fly off to Malaysia for TEN DAYS! I CAN’T WAIT.

Quite coincidentally, I have a work conference in KL for a few days. After the conference we will spend the next week catching up with friends, family, shopping and of course eating. I’m preparing myself for a 3 kilo (at the very least) weight gain. Haha. But that’s okay, the gym around the corner has got a 2 for 1 deal and Marc and I are thinking about joining up… well, not really thinking about, guess we have to now since we know just how much we’re going to eat when we head overseas. The food? Unbelievable. One of the things I miss most when I’m here in Melbourne.

Anyhoo it’s either time for bed or falling asleep at my desk tomorrow.

TGIF!
